Top Ten

Reasons getting sick after the holidays is great (or 10 ways to cheer myself up after a day of feeling crummy):

  1. Extra holiday pounds…gone!
  2. Cleanse to rid body of all the excess sugar and alcohol consumed during the holidays…done!
  3. Time to practice that resolution of self-care.
  4. Practice at taking time off.
  5. Catching up on random projects that got tossed by the wayside pre holiday madness.
  6. Reminder that daytime television is really bad and not worth wasting time on.
  7. Time to finish the book that has been sitting untouched for the last two weeks.
  8. Time to catch up on sleep.
  9. Lots of long baths taken (so what if they were to clear my sinuses).
  10. Something to write about for my blog.

I teach yoga, write, and edit. I live in a Brooklyn neighborhood that is changing faster than I can, or care to, keep up with. Manhattan still beckons me to her island a few subways stops away, reminding me of when I lived amongst her daily hustle and bustle.
