Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

I love snow! Maybe it is because of all those snowless years in a city with little weather variety. Or maybe it is because snow makes me feel like a little kid. It makes me smile, brings hope to the surface, and fills me with wonderment. Watching big fluffy snowflakes swirl through the sky as they descend to earth is pure magic to my eyes. Right as I began teaching my second yoga class of the day snow began to fall.

I watched my students as they breathed deeply in restorative poses, snow falling in the background. It was serene and beautiful. Amidst the holidays and all that has been going on in the world I found myself focusing only on the alignment and breath of each one of my students and the view of falling snow just outside the studio windows. I felt completely calm and at peace. It was one of those moments when I knew I was in the right place at the right time, doing exactly what I was supposed to be doing with my life.

About djunapassman

I teach yoga, write, and edit. I live in a Brooklyn neighborhood that is changing faster than I can, or care to, keep up with. Manhattan still beckons me to her island a few subways stops away, reminding me of when I lived amongst her daily hustle and bustle.
