It’s That Time of Year

IMG_7504

Today I was reminded of how hard this time of year can be for so many. If you love the holidays and they are filled with joy, family, friends, and memories you cherish, embrace all of that, celebrate, but remember not everyone looks forward to this time of year or gets through it smoothly. If this time of year is difficult for you, for whatever reasons, don’t be ashamed to admit that and seek out the support you need. We humans are strong and resilient, but we also break and need help when the going gets tough. The moral of this story: don’t assume someone is okay just because things seem to be fine from the outside and don’t be afraid to reach out or ask for help if the road gets bumpy. Most importantly, don’t be ashamed of who you are or what your circumstances are, and do not judge others for what they are going through or how they are handling their situations.

About djunapassman

I teach yoga, write, and edit. I live in a Brooklyn neighborhood that is changing faster than I can, or care to, keep up with. Manhattan still beckons me to her island a few subways stops away, reminding me of when I lived amongst her daily hustle and bustle.
